LMIA for Employers

Labour Market Impact Assessment strategy and submission for Canadian employers.

Overview

A Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is a document that Canadian employers need before hiring a foreign worker. It demonstrates that no Canadian citizen or permanent resident is available for the job. Nexora Pathways provides end-to-end LMIA support for employers, from job market analysis to submission and compliance.

Requirements

Eligibility Criteria

  • Employer must be a legitimate Canadian business
  • Position must be genuine and aligned with business needs
  • Employer must demonstrate recruitment efforts to hire Canadians first
  • Wages must meet or exceed the prevailing median wage for the occupation and region
  • Employer must comply with all federal and provincial labor laws
  • Transition plan may be required for high-wage positions

How It Works

Our Process

1

Business & Position Analysis

We review the employer's business operations, the position to be filled, and determine the appropriate LMIA stream (high-wage, low-wage, or Global Talent Stream).

2

Recruitment Campaign

We design and execute a compliant recruitment campaign meeting ESDC requirements — including Job Bank posting, additional advertising, and Canadian applicant screening.

3

LMIA Application

We prepare and submit the LMIA application with all supporting documentation, including the recruitment report, business legitimacy documents, and transition plan.

4

Worker's Permit Application

Upon LMIA approval, we assist the foreign worker with their work permit application using the positive LMIA confirmation.
