Overview
Beyond spousal sponsorship, Canadian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor parents, grandparents, dependent children, and certain other relatives for permanent residence. Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
- Sponsor must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, 18 years or older
- Meet the Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) for parents/grandparents sponsorship
- Three consecutive years of meeting income threshold (for PGP)
- No default on previous sponsorship undertakings
- Not receiving social assistance (except disability)
- Undertaking to financially support the sponsored person for the required period
